MEDS Audit Assistant Job in Kenya

Our client, Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a registered trust of the ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Episcopal Conference (KEC) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). 
This faith-based drug supply organization has close to 27 years of service having been started in 1986 to improve access to quality healthcare.

MEDS has set on an ambitious strategic transformation path to restructure and offer better service to the Kenya health community. 
In an effort to achieve its strategic plan, it is now seeking to identify and bring on board well-qualified, experienced and high-performing talent to participate in this exciting journey.

The organization is recruiting for the following position to support delivery of strategic goals. 
 
Internal Audit Assistant
Ref: HCSS/IAA-08

Reporting to the Internal Auditor, the incumbent will be required to provide internal audit support in the organization.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting assigned routine audits of various operations as detailed in the audit plan timetable under the direction of the Internal Auditor;
  • Drafting audit reports on findings and observations made from assigned tasks for review by the Internal Auditor;
  • Carry out weekly spot checks on operational areas to confirm proper servicing of customer orders and adherence to procedures to assure good custody of organizational assets;
  • Participate in risk assessment of the organization’s processes on a quarterly basis;
  • Carry out investigations for audit recommendations
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant Two (CPA (II)) or related qualification
  • Knowledge of Computer Assisted Auditing Tools will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of internal auditing techniques and standards
  • Good Communication and Inter Personal skills
  • Be a person of integrity
  • Have the ability to maintain confidentiality and remain independent
Employment is on a 3 year renewable contract and a competitive package will be negotiated with the right candidate.
